Make & Take Workshop at Sister Lakes Brewing Company

Salve Making Description-  Join Haley, owner and operator of Herbal Meadows Botanicals as we learn how to create three small handcrafted salves. We will discuss a few native plants that you can forage to add to your salve making practices at home, learn to weigh oils, butters & local beeswax as well as a brief discussion on oil infusions. Make & take three 1 oz. salves accompanied with a lifetime of knowledge while spending the evening with like minded people. We use top shelf olive oil for the base, beeswax from our hives and provide over 30 Now Essential Oils to choose from. You will be provided with everything you need and leave with:

Three 1 oz salve in tins; made with medicinal properties and scents of your choice. We will provide copies of essential oil, carrier oil and delusion information as well as the recipe to make your own salve at home. Beeswax will be available for sale as well as other goods that we carry including our local raw honey and salves. Sister Lakes Brewing Company, located in Dowagiac MI will be hosting our event. They have a wide variety of drinks for you to purchase including beer, wine, cider, sangria, seltzer, pop, water, tea & soda. They offer scratch made and locally sorced ingredients in their appitizers, salads & sandwiches. Come out and enjoy a drink, appitizer and unique workshop paired into one event! 

Beeswax Candle Description- Join Haley with Herbal Meadows Botanicals and craft your own 6 ounce beeswax candle. We will discuss the medicinal properties of beeswax and why burning beeswax candles are a healthy alternative to other waxes used to make candles. Every participant will weigh and melt their own beeswax, learn to set the wick and pour their own candle in a half pint mason jar. We will be using local beeswax and hemp wicks.

We are offering two workshops at the same time; 6:30-8pm! If you would like to make both items; we can make it happen! You will need to purchase tickets for both if you want to make both items. Tickets are available for salve & beeswax candle making. 

Cost is $28.00 per person and includes all materials and instruction. Advance payment is required to reserve your space. Payment deadline is April 17th. Limited seating available. A minimum of 10 participants is required for this class to take place, or refunds will be issued. No other refunds will be granted. No outside food or drinks please, as Sister Lakes Brewing Company has us covered!
